Seminar Feedback “Self motivation
in the light of family trauma”
For
people working with people
This one day seminar was held on 31 July 2007 and the aim was to find
ways to improve communication when dealing with victims and colleagues. People working with people are challenged with the reality
of dealing with family trauma such as family violence, sexual violations in
homes and family murders. These are situations over
which police officials, security providers and emergency personnel virtually
have no control and that have a direct impact on their own lives. The seminar
focused on helping them to find practical ways to motivate themselves and to deal
with the issues in their own lives. Papers were presented on the following themes: ·
The reality of the impact of family violence on
service providers ·
Rape in marriage ·
Creative solutions for communication problems ·
Financial management when your income is limited ·
Pulling yourself up with your own boot laces (Self-care
and self-motivation) CD’s
of seminar
CD’s with all the presentations are available @ R 100- For Pastor and
leaders:
“The one thing that changes
everything” By Stephen M.R. Covey There is one thing that is common to every
individual, relationship, team, family, organization, nation, economy, and
civilization throughout the world – one thing which, if it is removed, will
destroy the most powerful government, the most successful business, the most
thriving economy, the most influential leadership, the greatest friendship,
the strongest character, the deepest love. On the other hand, if developed and leveraged, the
one thing has the potential to create unparalleled success and prosperity in
every dimension of life. Yet, it is the least understood, most neglected, and
most underestimated possibility of our time. That one thing is trust. Trust impacts us 24/7, 365 days a year. It under
girds and affects the quality of every relationship, every communication,
every work, every business venture, every effort in
which we are engaged. It changes the quality of every present moment and
alters the trajectory and outcome of every future moment of our lives – both
personally and professionally. Contrary to what most people believe, trust is not
some soft, illusive quality that you either have or you don’t; rather, trust
is a pragmatic, tangible, actionable asset that you can create – much faster
than you probably think possible. Motivation for recommendation: “This book is essential in a time when South African people are traumatized and disillusioned by crime, politics, industrial action and broken relationship. Stephen Covey offers practical guidance on topics such as self; relationship; stakeholder and inspiring trust.” MoVhusi:
